PRIDE and RINGS veteran Hiromitsu Kanehara told everyone, "I will retire after one more fight". It was March 2006 after he was KO'd by Ryo Kawamura but Kanehara immediately retracted his statement, "At that time, I was thinking, I must retire but I like this sport, and even a for a fighter like me, there are people out there who would give me the support. I started RINGS Kanehara Dojo, and I started to feel, I gotta hang tough."
This time Kanehara is going down to the middleweight to take on Izuru Takeuchi, "When I was fighting in UWF International I was around that weight. I am walking around at 90 kg so I can cut weight."
Hikaru Sato in a China dress with a steamed pork bun was the other fighter who attended this press conference besides Kanehara. Sato is taking on a very powerful Alavutdin Gadzhiev from Russia but Sato was confident, "I always wanted to fight Gadzhiev". Apparently the way he dressed on this day implies his strategy for this fight, "I found a clue. The hint came from food imported from China. Even if I get KO'd in five seconds, you would find out the answer."
